Why not go with Python and Django (Django after all was developed by a Chicagoan)?

What type of programming language and platform would you like to code in? (PHP, Python, C#/ASP.NET, Ruby/Rails, etc)

I think it would be best to stick to an open source language. Something that is easy to prototype in. Something that the majority of the developers will know and understand.
